There has been no announcement that the existing process is cancelled or that Ministerial decree 6386 regarding the acceptance of Certificates of Conformity has been rescinded.
But there are several points you need to note:
- The MoCI is now seeking assistance from approved laboratories for the Customs clearance of imported products but only five laboratories covering the designated product groups have so far been approved. The demand for testing is likely to lead to serious backlogs and unacceptable delays in Customs Clearance.
- Surveillance of products on arrival will be increased in frequency.
In order to reduce the risk of sampling and testing in Saudi Arabia, you are highly recommended to obtain CoC through the normal process until further notice from MoCI.
We will keep on following up with Saudi Arabia and will keep you post when updated information are available.
If there is any enquiry, please feel free to contact us or your nearest Lander office.
